Have a dashboard built that works

A good dashboard doesn’t make decisions for you, but it ensures that you always make decisions based on the right information. Factor Blue builds dashboards on a solid data foundation.

//01 — What is dashboarding?

Making data visible at the right level

A dashboard transforms raw data from your systems into overviews and visualizations that help people make decisions. These can include operational overviews that show in real time how many orders are pending, what the inventory status is, or how campaigns are performing.

The problem with dashboards is rarely the visualization tool itself. Power BI, Looker, and Tableau can all create beautiful charts.

The problem lies in the underlying data. If the order system, ERP, and CRM each use a different definition of “revenue,” the dashboard will show three different answers to the same question. Factor Blue solves this by first building the data foundation—a single, centralized environment with unambiguous definitions—and only then building the dashboard on top of it.

At Factor Blue, dashboarding is the final link in a broader data chain: integrations ensure data flows, data engineering ensures data is accurate, and dashboarding ensures data is visible. You can also come to us with just a dashboard request, and we’ll start by analyzing what’s already in place and what’s needed.

Our work is supported by a strong network of technical partners, complemented by expertise in e-commerce and technology that we continuously develop and refine.

//02 — What do we build?

Four types of dashboards we build

From real-time operational overviews to executive reporting at the KPI level. The four components of a data engineering project.

Operational dashboards

Dashboards that show, in real time or near real time, what’s happening in your organization right now. Open orders, inventory levels, current production, and real-time capacity utilization. Designed for those who manage day-to-day operations: logistics, customer service, and operations.

Executive Reports

KPI dashboards that show whether the organization is on track. Revenue versus target, margin trends, customer satisfaction, and staffing levels are all consolidated into a single overview that provides weekly or monthly updates to management.

Marketing Analytics

Dashboards that provide insights into campaign performance, online store conversions, customer segments, and revenue streams. Integrated with sources such as Google Analytics, Meta Ads, Klaviyo, and your online store.

AI-driven insights

Dashboards that not only report but also flag issues and make predictions. Anomalies are automatically highlighted. Trends are extrapolated based on historical data. With Microsoft Copilot in Power BI, you can ask your data questions in plain language and get immediate answers.

Trusted by ambitious brands

//04 — Factor Blue

Why choose Factor Blue for dashboarding?

One-stop provider

Factor Blue builds the integrations, the data engineering layer, and the dashboard. That means we know what the data looks like before it ends up in a chart.

Certified engineers

Our data engineers are certified and work daily on integration projects for a wide range of organizations. They know the systems and the pitfalls.

Direct communication, no interference

You’ll work directly with the developers. Honest feedback, clear agreements, and no surprises down the road.

Managed dashboards

A dashboard that no one maintains becomes a dashboard that no one trusts. Data sources change, new KPIs are added, and users want new insights. Through Data Care, we manage dashboards systematically.

//05 — Customer Feedback

Real customer experiences

Choosing a new technical partner isn’t something you do lightly. That’s why we let our clients and partners share their experiences working with us.

TELL US WHAT'S GOING ON

We’re the technical team that lies awake at night worrying about your uptime, your performance, and your next steps. Not as a contractor. Not as a supplier. But as the people who have just as much at stake in your success as you do.

You tell us what’s going on; we’ll tell you what we see.

//07 — Our Approach

From the initial consultation to
a fully functional dashboard

01.

Discovery

We start by asking: Who will use this dashboard, for what decisions, and what information do they need to make those decisions? That sounds simple, but it’s the step that’s most often skipped—and it determines whether a dashboard will actually be used after it’s delivered.

02.

Evaluate Data Sources

We assess which data sources are available and how reliable they are. If a data warehouse or pipeline already exists, we integrate with it. If not, we determine the minimum requirements needed to build the dashboard.

03.

Prototyping & Iteration

We’ll quickly build an initial version of the dashboard and show it to you—not after three months, but after two to three weeks. Feedback at this stage can be incorporated quickly; adjustments made later on cannot. We work iteratively until the dashboard does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

04.

Building a data foundation & integrations

If the data foundation isn’t in place yet, we’ll build it in parallel or beforehand. Pipelines, transformation logic, data models.

05.

Delivery, Training & Data Care

We deliver the project, explain the dashboard to users, and ensure that everyone knows how it works. And we connect it to Data Care for ongoing management so that the dashboard will be just as reliable in six months as it was on day one.
