We run your store as if it were our own.

The Factor Blue team takes on technical responsibility for your online store platform, integrations, and digital infrastructure—not on a project-by-project basis, but as part of a long-term partnership—using one of our collaboration models.

//02 — Why choose our partnership model?

The traditional hourly model, and ours.

Hours are a measure of time spent, not of results. That’s why we work differently from standard agencies. We don’t bill by the hour; instead, we take responsibility for the actual results. See below for what that means in practice.

Traditional agency
Factor Blue
Billing
✕Youpay per hour worked.
You pay for results, not for hours. Fixed monthly fee, no retroactive billing.
Commitment
✕We’llstep back once the project is delivered and the invoice is paid.
We run your store as if it were our own— even after it goes live, every single day.
Setup Costs
You pay for the onboarding and training period of each new (junior) developer.
We invest time in getting to know your store and ensure that this knowledge is retained within our organization.
Additional Work
✕You’reregularly billed for unexpected hours because something didn’t go as planned.
No more unexpected invoices. You’ll always know what to expect.
Code Ownership
✕Agenciescreate a lock-in; leaving is difficult and costs you a lot of money.
All code belongs to you. You’re free to leave at any time—we’ll transfer everything to you.
Point of Contact
✕Having to explain your situation over and overagain to someone without technical knowledge.
A technical project manager who knows your store inside and out— and is there for you whenever you need them.
In the event of a malfunction
✕System outagescost you revenue while your support ticket is in the queue.
Guaranteed response within 1 hour. Plus proactive monitoring and follow-up.
Stuck
✕Signing upfor a long-term contract before you know if it’s a good fit.
3-month trial period or cancel at no cost. No all-or-nothing decision required upfront.
In short
You bear all the risk
We take responsibility

//03 — FAQ

There are rules,
no fine
print.

We provide clear answers to everything you want to know about our pricing models, how we work together, and what you can and cannot expect.

01. How many hours do I get per model?

None. And honestly, that’s the best question you can ask. Hours are a measure of presence, not of results. We work on a task-based model: we take on tasks, execute them, and deliver them. No timesheets, no discussions afterward. We take full responsibility for what we build. That’s ownership in action.

We start with an introductory meeting and a technical assessment. If we’re taking over an existing store, we evaluate its build quality, areas for improvement, and any potential risks so we understand its current state and what’s needed. Then, together, we determine which model best suits your online store and your goals.

Next, you’ll meet the people who will be working on your project. Then we’ll get started.

We view the intake and technical audit as our investment. You pay the monthly flat fee starting on the start date. Nothing more.

Yes, and we do that regularly. Our model is particularly valuable for online stores that are seriously tackling technology for the first time. You build up knowledge without losing it every time you switch projects.

Absolutely. That growth path is exactly how our collaboration model is designed to work.

Yes. Do you need additional development work or a one-time task in addition to your template? We’ll handle that as a separate project at a fixed rate. For this, we ask that you: notify us well in advance, provide a clear description, and agree to the fixed rate. Urgent work is not covered by this offer.

Under our “Build” collaboration model, a complete rebuild is a separate project; this model is intended for tasks that we tackle and deliver iteration by iteration. A rebuild goes beyond the scope of this model.

At Engineer en Team, things are different. With a dedicated developer working exclusively on your platform, a large-scale initiative such as a front-end rebuild is simply part of the partnership.

If your situation changes, we’ll discuss what works best for you. This could involve a model change, a temporary capacity expansion, or something else. We won’t impose anything that no longer fits your needs.

No, hosting is not included in our partnership models. However, we do work with trusted hosting partners whose services are compatible with our technical stack. We’re happy to help you make the right choice and will handle technical communication with the hosting provider on your behalf.

Everything related to the functioning of what we’ve built together. Is something not working as it should, or is there a bug in existing code? Then it falls under maintenance.

If something we’ve built isn’t working as it should, we’ll take care of it. We don’t set any limits on tasks related to what we’ve built together. If it’s part of your system, we’ll always fix it.

This does not include new work, expansions, or modifications. The scope is limited to what already exists and should be functioning properly. If in doubt, we always communicate this in advance.

New features, expansions, or modifications are all considered development, even when they involve minor changes. Management focuses on what already exists and should be functioning properly.

One request always equals one task. If you submit multiple tasks at once, we’ll split them up so that each part receives the attention it deserves. For Care, a maximum of 2 tasks can be open at a time; for Build, 5; for Engineer, 8; and for Team, an unlimited number.

A task must fit within a 72-hour turnaround time. Is it larger than that? In that case, we’ll always treat it as a separate project with a fixed rate and prior approval.

Is a project’s scope outside the scope of a standard task? In that case, we’ll discuss how to approach it or handle it as a separate project—always with no surprises.

All plans have a minimum term of 6 months. If you’re not satisfied within the first three months, you can cancel at no cost.

The partnership continues on a monthly basis, unless either party indicates a desire to terminate or modify the agreement. There is no automatic renewal with new terms—just continuity until something changes.

Every week, you’ll receive a report on the tasks and the status of your platform. You’ll also always have access to the system we use.

Depending on your plan, there’s also a quarterly or monthly strategy session. You’ll always know where you stand.

Then we’ll come up with proposals. We actively monitor your platform and identify areas for improvement—speed, security, technical optimizations, and new features—on our own. Just because you don’t assign us tasks doesn’t mean the work comes to a standstill or that we have nothing to do. That’s what sets us apart from an agency that waits for you to call or email.

We expect commitment, but we won’t force a partnership that isn’t working. If you’re not satisfied within the first three months, you can cancel at no cost. No penalties, no questions asked. What we’ve built is yours. We believe in our approach enough to take that risk.

We always ensure a smooth handover. What we’ve built belongs to you. Documentation, access, and technical knowledge are systematically transferred to your next partner or in-house team. We won’t leave you in the lurch.

TELL US WHAT'S GOING ON

We’re the technical team that lies awake at night worrying about your uptime, your performance, and your next steps. Not as a contractor. Not as a supplier. But as the people who have just as much at stake in your success as you do.

You tell us what’s going on; we’ll tell you what we see.
